South actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently shared an update on her health, revealing that she has been battling an autoimmune disease called myositis, a condition she has mentioned before. She spoke candidly about how this chronic and incurable illness left her feeling helpless.
In an interview with Food Farmer, Samantha opened up about her condition, saying, “When I first learned about my autoimmune disease, I was very careless about my health and felt completely alone. I didn’t know where to start. When you’re sick, you get medicine for a week and think you’ll be fine. But that’s not how it works anymore. This is a chronic disease, and it’s incurable. When I was told that I’d have to live like this for the rest of my life, or that things would only get worse, I was extremely angry. I felt like my entire life had stopped. In that moment, I felt completely helpless.”
Samantha also discussed the reactions people had when they learned about her illness. She said, “When people found out about my disease, they only asked me one question: ‘What about acting? What’s your plan?’ Their questions really frustrated me. I would say, I don’t have a plan B. I just want to act. I wish this illness never happens to anyone, not even to my enemy.”
On the work front, Samantha was last seen in the action-thriller series Citadel Honey Bunny, where she starred alongside Varun Dhawan in the lead roles. Directed by Raj and DK, the series premiered on November 7, 2024. Samantha played the role of a spy in the series.
