Charu Asopa, Sushmita Sen’s Former Sister-in-Law, Quits Acting to Start Garment Business

Mumbai: TV actress Charu Asopa, who was previously married to Sushmita Sen’s brother Rajeev Sen, has officially stepped away from her acting career and ventured into the garment business. Citing the high cost of living in Mumbai, Charu relocated to her hometown, Bikaner, along with her daughter Ziana.

She is now actively running an online clothing business, selling items such as salwar kameez and sarees. A recent video shows her personally managing the entire process — from taking orders to packaging and shipping them herself.

Speaking about her decision, Charu shared that raising her daughter alone in Mumbai had become financially unsustainable. As a result, she chose to return home and currently resides with her parents.

Charu and Rajeev’s marriage had its share of ups and downs, ultimately leading to their separation. Although they attempted to reconcile for the sake of their daughter, the differences between them resurfaced, and they eventually parted ways permanently.
