Bank Holidays in April 2025
Starting from April 1, 2025, the new financial year has begun. Every year, on April 1st, banks across the country remain closed. According to RBI regulations, banks are closed on this day due to the increased workload of closing accounts at the end of the financial year. However, net banking and digital transactions continue to operate. Along with the new financial year, RBI has also released a new bank holiday calendar.
In Gujarat, banks will remain closed for a total of 10 days in April. Nationwide, including weekends and festival holidays, banks will remain closed for 16 days. Therefore, it is essential to check the holiday list before completing any urgent banking tasks.
Holidays in April
Due to various state and national festivals, banks will be closed on different days in April. Some of these holidays include Mahavir Jayanti, Ambedkar Jayanti, Good Friday, Bihu, Basava Jayanti, and Akshaya Tritiya. Additionally, other holidays like Babu Jagjivan Ram Jayanti, Sarhul, Tamil New Year, Himachal Day, Vishu, Cheiraoba, Garia Puja, and Parshuram Jayanti will also be observed.
Bank Holidays in Gujarat:
In Gujarat, banks will be closed for 10 days in total:
- April 1: General Holiday
- April 10: Mahavir Jayanti
- April 14: Ambedkar Jayanti
- April 18: Good Friday
- Additionally, the second and fourth Saturdays (April 12 and April 26) will be holidays.
- Sundays (April 6, 13, 20, and 27) will also be observed as holidays.
