Artificial intelligence is everywhere today, but for many students and professionals, one question remains: How do I actually use it?
That question is at the heart of Odisha Meets AI, a community-led initiative started in June 2026 with a simple mission — helping people from Odisha move from hearing about AI to actually learning, experimenting and building with it.
In its first few months, Odisha Meets AI has generated 580,000+ Instagram views while conducting 60+ community sessions representing 65+ scheduled hours of conversations, guidance and live building.
Beyond social media, 135 people have joined the mission/community and 50 people have applied to its personalized Launchpad program.
But the initiative is not being built around numbers alone.
Behind those numbers are students confused about which skills to learn, young professionals trying to become industry-ready, creators experimenting with AI, and people with ideas they want to turn into real projects.
Moving From Learning to Building
A central philosophy behind Odisha Meets AI is:

Instead of focusing only on AI tools and prompts, the initiative encourages participants to understand a problem, choose appropriate tools and create something tangible.
Its Build Club sessions are one example.
In one live session, participants explored how an idea could be transformed into a working website using AI-assisted development tools and then published online.
Another session demonstrated the process of creating an AI-assisted advertisement video — moving from a client brief to scripting, AI-generated visuals, voice and final editing.
The emphasis is not on mastering every new AI tool. It is on learning how different technologies can work together to solve a real problem.
Personalized Guidance Through Launchpad
Odisha Meets AI also runs Launchpad, a personalized guidance initiative designed around the individual participant rather than a fixed curriculum.
Participants may come with questions about career direction, projects, AI skills, freelancing or how to become more industry-ready.
The objective is not to promise jobs or overnight success. Instead, Launchpad focuses on helping participants understand where they currently stand and identify practical next steps.
The program has already received 50 applications.
Free Resources for Practical AI Learning
Alongside live sessions, the initiative publishes free practical AI resources covering areas such as prompts, career preparation, resume improvement, project building and AI-assisted workflows.
The resources encourage learners to go beyond certificates and ask more useful questions:
Can I build something? Can I explain what I built? Can I demonstrate my skills?
The aim is to make AI learning more action-oriented and accessible.
Building an AI Community Around Odisha
Recent Instagram insights for Odisha Meets AI recorded 582,652 views in 90 days, reaching more than 224,00 viewers and adding over 2,500 net followers during the period.
However, social media reach is intended to be the beginning of the journey rather than the destination.
The larger vision is to connect students, professionals, creators, educators and entrepreneurs from Odisha — including Odias living outside the state — around practical AI learning and experimentation.
Odisha Meets AI is still an early-stage community experiment, being built publicly through conversations, resources, live sessions and real projects.
