‘Bhootni’ Release Postponed to Avoid Clash with Kesari 2, Now Set to Compete with Raid 2

Release pushed from April 18 to May 1

Official reason: Pending VFX work, though skepticism remains
The release date of Sanjay Dutt and Mouni Roy’s upcoming horror-action-comedy film Bhootni has been shifted from April 18 to May 1.
Initially set to clash with Akshay Kumar’s Kesari 2, the film’s makers decided to avoid a box office showdown by opting for a new date. However, the new release date coincides with Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2, presenting a fresh challenge for Bhootni at the box office.
Industry insiders suggest that filmmaker Karan Johar may have influenced the decision to delay the release. While the official reason cited is that some VFX work is still pending, many are skeptical. With less than a week remaining before the original release, it’s unlikely that key post-production elements would still be incomplete. This has led to speculation that the delay was planned well in advance under the guise of technical reasons.
Now, with the release falling on a packed day, Bhootni risks getting overshadowed despite the strategic rescheduling.
