BYD Seal 2025 Launched in India: Covers Ahmedabad to Mumbai on a Single Charge, Packed with Hi-Tech Features; Direct Competition to Kia and Volvo
Before Elon Musk’s Tesla could make its debut in India, Chinese automaker BYD (Build Your Dreams) has launched its second vehicle in the Indian market. BYD has introduced the updated 2025 models of its electric SUV Eto 3 and electric sedan Seal.
Pricing for the Luxury Electric Sedan
The BYD Seal 2025 is a premium electric sedan, starting at ₹41 lakh in India for the Dynamic (Rear-Wheel Drive) variant.

The Premium (Rear-Wheel Drive) variant is priced at ₹45.70 lakh.

The Performance (All-Wheel Drive) variant costs ₹53.15 lakh.
While the base model retains its original price, the top-end variant sees a price increase of ₹15,000. Although the Seal was already available in the market, the 2025 edition brings several upgrades and feature enhancements.
Long-Range Capabilities: Ahmedabad to Mumbai on One Charge
According to the company, the Eto 3 delivers a range of 521 km on a full charge. For safety, it comes equipped with 8 airbags and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) features. The updated Eto 3 will compete with upcoming models like the Tata Curvv EV and Hyundai Creta Electric.
The BYD Seal, meanwhile, takes on rivals such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, and Volvo C40.
Battery Specs and Performance

Dynamic Variant: Equipped with a 61.44 kWh battery, it delivers 201 bhp and 310 Nm of torque, with a range of up to 510 km.

Premium Variant: Features an 82.56 kWh battery, producing 308 bhp and 360 Nm of torque, offering a range of up to 650 km.

Performance Variant: Also powered by an 82.56 kWh battery, it includes All-Wheel Drive, generating 523 bhp and 670 Nm of torque, with a range of up to 580 km.
Advanced Suspension for a Smoother Ride
The Performance variant comes with a DiSus-C intelligent damping system, which adjusts suspension in real-time based on road conditions. The Premium variant features Frequency Selective Dampers (FSD)—previously available only in the top variant—improving comfort and handling.
Additionally, the car includes a touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a new Sound Wave feature designed to enhance in-cabin acoustics.
