China Tops List of Dumping Cases in India

The Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR), the investigative arm of India’s Ministry of Commerce, issued final findings in 13 anti-dumping cases in March. According to analysts, most of these cases were filed against China.

Additionally, the DGTR launched investigations into 11 new cases last month. The surge in dumping—particularly from China—has significantly impacted domestic industries, raising serious concerns.

The final findings covered products such as aluminum foil, plastic processing machines, decor paper, and Vitamin-A Palmitate. Of the 13 cases, 12 involved excessive dumping by Chinese exporters, highlighting China’s dominant role in these trade disputes.

Other countries named in the investigations include European nations, Russia, Japan, and Taiwan, according to DGTR sources. With the escalation of the global tariff war, both the Indian government and local manufacturers are increasingly worried about the rise in low-cost imports from China. In response, the government has recently tightened inspection protocols for imports to curb unfair trade practices.
