New Mumbai International Airport to Be Inaugurated in June: Gautam Adani Reviews Progress, Calls It a Glimpse of India’s Aviation Future
Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani visited the New Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) today to review its progress and assess the ongoing construction. Upon his arrival, the Adani Airports team welcomed him and provided a detailed briefing on the project’s developments. Adani was reportedly impressed with the rapid advancements.
Sharing his thoughts on X (formerly Twitter), Gautam Adani wrote:
“A glimpse into the future of India’s aviation! Visited the New Mumbai International Airport site today. A world-class airport is taking shape. Scheduled for inauguration this June, it will redefine connectivity and growth—truly a gift to India! Congratulations to the Adani Airports team and stakeholders for turning this vision into reality.”
A spokesperson for New Mumbai International Airport Limited (NMIAL) confirmed Adani’s visit, stating that the project remains on track for completion, with its inauguration planned for June 2025. The review meeting was attended by Dr. Priti Adani, Jeet Adani, and Diva Adani, along with Arun Bansal, CEO of Adani Airport Holdings Limited, and Captain B.V.J.K. Sharma, CEO of NMIAL. Representatives from stakeholder companies were also present.
Once completed, the New Mumbai International Airport is expected to enhance regional connectivity and drive economic growth. The airport, being developed by the Adani Group, is strategically located between Amra Marg and National Highway 4B, approximately 35 km from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA). It is about 49 km from South Mumbai’s Gateway of India, 43 km from Worli, 49 km from Andheri, and 56 km from Mira Road.
