2025 Hero Passion Plus Launched in India: Updated Engine with CBS, Priced at ₹81,651 — Set to Rival Honda Shine 100

Hero MotoCorp has launched the updated 2025 Passion Plus in India on April 10, introducing it with a new OBD2B-compliant engine and added features. The bike now comes equipped with a Combined Braking System (CBS) for enhanced safety.

The ex-showroom price of the 2025 Hero Passion Plus is ₹81,651, making it ₹1,750 more expensive than the previous 2024 non-OBD2B version, which was priced at ₹79,901.

This updated commuter bike competes in the 100cc segment with rivals like the Honda Shine 100, Bajaj Platina 100, TVS Sport, Hero Splendor Plus, and HF Deluxe. While the dimensions remain unchanged, the new model comes with updated color options.

Design: Sleek Dual-Tone Look with Alloy Wheels

The overall design remains unchanged from the previous model. It features:

  • 18-inch 5-spoke black alloy wheels

  • A dual-tone color scheme

The 2024 model was available in four color options. The 2025 Passion Plus is now offered in two updated color variants:

  • Black Nexus Blue

  • Black Heavy Grey

Hardware: Durable Frame and Drum Brakes

The bike is built on a double cradle frame, offering stability and comfort. Key hardware components include:

  • Telescopic front forks

  • Twin rear shock absorbers

  • 130mm drum brakes on both wheels

The Passion Plus rides on tubeless tires — 80-section at the front and 100-section at the rear. It has a ground clearance of 168mm, a seat height of 790mm, and a kerb weight of 115kg.

Engine & Performance: Refined 97.2cc with OBD2B Compliance

At the heart of the new Passion Plus is a 97.2cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, 2-valve engine, now updated to meet OBD2B emission standards. Performance figures include:

  • 8.02 PS power at 8,000 rpm

  • 8.05 Nm torque at 6,000 rpm

  • 4-speed gearbox

This engine is also used in the Hero Splendor Plus and HF Deluxe, though those models haven’t received the OBD2B update yet.

Features: Equipped with i3S and Utility Enhancements

The 2025 Passion Plus comes loaded with practical features such as:

  • Combined Braking System (CBS)

  • Hero’s i3S (Idle Start-Stop System)

  • Self-start

  • Mobile charging port

  • Small utility storage box under the fuel tank

  • Side-stand engine cut-off

The 2025 Hero Passion Plus blends reliability with updated compliance and features, making it a strong contender in the commuter segment. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly, fuel-efficient daily ride, this one is worth considering.
