The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards have officially commenced in Jaipur today. The prestigious event is being held at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Center (JECC) in Sitapura from March 8 to March 9.
Bollywood celebrities, including Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor, made a stunning appearance at the event. The former co-stars shared a warm moment on stage, embracing and engaging in a long conversation.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari attended the IIFA press conference alongside Bollywood’s biggest stars. Speaking at the event, CM Sharma emphasized Rajasthan’s deep connection with Bollywood, stating, “Bollywood cannot be imagined without Rajasthan. Our well-developed road and rail network makes it an ideal destination for filmmakers. Bollywood actors serve as brand ambassadors for our state.”
IIFA to Boost Rajasthan’s Tourism and Film Industry
CM Bhajanlal Sharma expressed his enthusiasm for hosting IIFA in Rajasthan, marking the second time the state has welcomed the event. He highlighted how such grand occasions pave the way for tourism growth. “Every year, thousands of weddings take place in Rajasthan’s palaces, hotels, and havelis. This event will further enhance the state’s global appeal,” he said.
Over the past year, Rajasthan has emerged as a major hub for film production, with 61 films, web series, and TV shows being shot in the state. “Our landscapes, mountains, and wildlife sanctuaries offer a perfect backdrop for filmmakers,” he added.
Deputy CM Diya Kumari also expressed her excitement, stating, “Since the announcement of IIFA, we have been eagerly waiting to welcome everyone to Rajasthan.”
With IIFA 2024 in full swing, Jaipur is set to witness a dazzling celebration of Indian cinema, bringing together Bollywood’s biggest names and boosting Rajasthan’s prominence in the film industry.
