2025 Kawasaki Ninja 650 Launched in India: Updated Engine Meets Emission Norms; Priced at ₹7.27 Lakh
Kawasaki has officially launched the updated 2025 model of its popular sports bike, the Ninja 650, in India on April 21. The latest version comes equipped with an upgraded engine that now complies with the stricter OBD2B emission norms.
The motorcycle features dual-channel ABS and a traction control system for enhanced safety. Priced at ₹7.27 lakh (ex-showroom), the Ninja 650 goes up against rivals like the Triumph Daytona 660, Yamaha R15 400, and Honda CBR650R.
With the 2025 update, the price has increased by ₹11,000. Meanwhile, Kawasaki is offering a discount of ₹25,000 on the remaining stock of the 2024 model.
Design: Lime Green Styling with Twin LED Headlights
The 2025 Ninja 650 is available in an eye-catching lime green color scheme, accented with contrasting shades of white, yellow, and black. The bike’s aggressive styling stands out with features like sharp twin LED headlights, a muscular fuel tank, layered fairing, fairing-mounted rearview mirrors (ORVMs), underbelly exhaust, a flush-fitted windscreen, and a bold upper cowl.
Other design highlights include LED taillights, a sleek aluminum swingarm, halogen turn indicators integrated into the fairing, a stepped rear seat, an upright riding posture, and neutral foot pegs for added comfort.
Performance
Mechanically, the 2025 Ninja 650 remains unchanged. It is powered by a 649cc, 4-stroke, parallel-twin, DOHC, 8-valve, liquid-cooled engine that produces 68 hp at 8,000 rpm and 48.5 Nm of torque at 6,700 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and features an assist and slipper clutch for smoother gear shifts and improved control.
Suspension, Braking & Features
Built on a lightweight trellis frame, the Ninja 650 offers a comfortable ride with a 41mm hydraulic telescopic front fork and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock suspension.
Braking duties are handled by dual 300mm petal-type front discs with two-piston calipers and a 220mm rear petal disc with a single-piston caliper. The bike also features Kawasaki’s traction control system and dual-channel ABS for added safety.
In terms of features, the motorcycle is equipped with a full-color TFT display, all-LED lighting, Bluetooth connectivity, riding modes, and the advanced safety of traction control and dual-channel ABS.
