Maruti to Hike Prices of 7 Cars by Up to ₹62,000: Third Price Increase This Year Due to Rising Costs
Maruti Suzuki has announced a price hike of up to ₹62,000 on seven of its car models, effective April 8, 2025. The company stated in an exchange filing that rising raw material and operational costs have led to this decision. This marks Maruti Suzuki’s third price hike in 2025.

Maruti Suzuki Sales Performance
3% Increase in March Sales
Maruti Suzuki sold 1,92,984 vehicles in March 2025, up from 1,87,196 units in March 2024, marking a 3% year-on-year growth. Domestic passenger vehicle (PV) sales stood at 1,50,743 units, slightly down from 1,52,718 units in March 2024.
Decline in Small Car Sales
Sales of entry-level models like Alto and S-Presso fell to 11,655 units in March 2025 from 11,829 units a year ago. Similarly, sales of compact models (Baleno, Dzire, Ignis, Swift) dropped to 66,906 units, down from 69,844 units in March 2024.
Growth in SUV & MPV Sales
Sales of utility vehicles like Grand Vitara, Brezza, Ertiga, and XL6 rose to 61,097 units, compared to 58,436 units last year.
Exports See a Boost
Maruti exported 32,968 vehicles in March 2025, up from 25,892 units in March 2024.
Over 2 Million Vehicles Sold for Second Consecutive Year
Maruti Suzuki reported total sales of 22,34,266 vehicles in FY 2024-25, compared to 21,35,323 units in the previous fiscal year.
