New Delhi, April 19 – OPPO has officially confirmed the launch of its upcoming smartphone, the OPPO A5 Pro 5G, for the Indian market. The device is scheduled to debut on April 24th and will arrive as the successor to last year’s OPPO A3 Pro 5G. Ahead of its launch, key details around the phone’s specifications and pricing have already surfaced online, giving a fair glimpse of what to expect.
Redesigned and More Durable
As per the teaser poster shared by OPPO, the Indian variant of the OPPO A5 Pro 5G will feature a squircle-shaped camera module, differing from the circular camera island seen on the Chinese version. The device will boast an IP69 rating, making it highly dust- and water-resistant. It is also teased to feature a 360-degree damage-proof armor body, offering additional durability against drops and rough usage. The smartphone is shown in a brownish color, suggesting new finish options for Indian buyers.
Battery and Performance Tweaks
Under the hood, the OPPO A5 Pro 5G will be equipped with a 5,800mAh battery paired with 45W fast charging support. This is a minor downgrade compared to the 6,000mAh battery and 80W charging found in the Chinese model. OPPO also claims the phone will feature 200% Network Boost technology, promising seamless connectivity even in challenging environments.
Leaked Pricing for India
According to a report by 91mobiles Hindi, the OPPO A5 Pro 5G will be priced at ₹17,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB variant. A higher-end version with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage will reportedly cost ₹19,999.
What Else Do We Know?
Based on earlier leaks and OPPO’s official teasers, the smartphone is expected to feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. The rear camera setup is expected to include a 50MP primary sensor, while details about the secondary sensor remain unknown.
In China, the phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset and starts at CNY 1,999 (~₹23,800) for the base 8GB + 256GB model. For reference, the previous-generation OPPO A3 Pro 5G, featuring the Dimensity 6300 chip, 5,100mAh battery, and 120Hz display, also launched at ₹17,999 in India.
