Toyota Launches Updated Urban Cruiser Hyryder: Hybrid SUV Now Offers AWD and Automatic Gearbox, Starting at ₹11.34 Lakh

Toyota Kirloskar Motor launched the updated model of its mid-size hybrid SUV, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, on April 7 in the Indian market. The new version comes with several enhanced features aimed at improving comfort, performance, and safety. According to the company, the hybrid powertrain delivers an impressive mileage of 27.7 kmpl.

Key updates include six airbags as standard, an 8-way power-adjustable driver seat, ventilated front seats, an electronic parking brake, rear-door sunshades, and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Notably, the SUV now offers an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) setup paired with an automatic gearbox—adding to its versatility and appeal.

Following the update, prices have increased by ₹20,000, with the starting ex-showroom price now set at ₹11.34 lakh. The Hyryder competes in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment against models like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Skoda Kushaq, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, and MG Astor.

Toyota has also introduced the TPMS feature in the mid-variant of the Hyryder. Additionally, LED spot and reading cabin lights—previously limited to the mid and top variants—are now offered as standard across all trims. These updates contribute to a more premium and modern cabin experience.

Other notable interior features include a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, a head-up display (HUD), wireless phone charger, and a panoramic sunroof. For added safety and convenience, the SUV is equipped with a 360-degree camera system and an auto-dimming inside rearview mirror (IRVM).
