Urvashi Rautela’s ‘Dabidi Dabidi’ Song Sparks Controversy: Fans Criticize Choreography for Being Inappropriate and Vulgar

Controversy Erupts Over Urvashi Rautela’s ‘Dabidi Dabidi’ Dance: Fans Call it Cheap and Distasteful

The newly released song “Dabidi Dabidi…” from the upcoming South Indian film Daku Maharaj has stirred up controversy. Featuring Urvashi Rautela alongside lead actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, the song’s choreography and dance steps have faced strong criticism from fans and social media users.

The song was recently announced by Urvashi Rautela on her Instagram account, where she shared the official release of the track. Alongside the post, she wrote: “Here’s the electrifying full song ‘Dabidi Dabidi..’ from our mega-period drama film Daku Maharaj. With Thaman’s music and Nandamuri Balakrishna’s stellar performance, this is the perfect gift for the New Year! Enjoy the energy and celebrate. The film releases worldwide on January 12, 2025.”

However, the excitement quickly turned into backlash as viewers began to express their displeasure with the song’s choreography. Many fans took to social media to express their anger, calling the steps vulgar and cheap. One user even commented, “This is the worst choreography I’ve seen in recent times.” Others criticized the lack of creativity and quality in the dance moves, saying it was “poor choreography.”

The video, which also features an uncomfortable pairing of an older man and a much younger girl dancing together, further fueled criticism. One user questioned, “How can such ideas for choreography even be conceived, and why would the hero agree to perform it?” Another wrote, “If Bollywood had done something like this, there would be outrage, and people would be protesting the attack on national culture.”

Urvashi Rautela Opens Up About Age Gap with Co-Star Nandamuri Balakrishna

In a recent interview with IDWA, Urvashi Rautela addressed the significant age difference between her and co-star Nandamuri Balakrishna. “The actors are in their 60s and 70s, and there is a noticeable age gap between us,” she remarked. “This is perhaps the biggest age difference in the history of Indian cinema, but it’s perfectly fine.”

The much-awaited film Daku Maharaj, which also stars Bobby Deol and Dulquer Salmaan, is set to release worldwide on January 12, 2025. Despite the controversy surrounding the song, all eyes are now on the film’s release to see how it performs with the audience.
