Anu Agarwal, who gained fame with the hit film Aashiqui, has made startling revelations about the dark side of Bollywood during her time in the industry. In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, the actress claimed that underworld figures, including notorious gangster Dawood Ibrahim, had significant control over Bollywood.
According to Anu, “The film industry was a dirty business back then. People like Dawood Ibrahim were running the show, and the money invested in films often came from the underworld. The system was completely different at that time.”

During the conversation, Anu Agarwal shed light on how the industry operated behind closed doors. “Deals were made secretly and illegally,” she said, adding that she is unaware of the current state of the industry as she is no longer a part of it.

Anu also opened up about her difficult early days in Mumbai. “It was challenging to live alone in a city like Mumbai. I couldn’t even get a PG accommodation,” she recalled.
Despite rising to fame with Aashiqui, her career came to a tragic halt after a devastating car accident in 1999. The accident left her in a coma for 29 days and caused memory loss and partial paralysis.
Since then, Anu has kept a low profile, staying away from the industry that once made her a star.
