The preparations for the 2025 Delhi Legislative Assembly elections are in full swing, and the Congress Party is ready with its promises and plans to return to power. The party is set to announce five major guarantees to the people of Delhi, with a particular focus on women and youth. Senior Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Priyanka Gandhi, and others, will announce these guarantees from January 6 to January 12. These guarantees are expected to make the Delhi elections more competitive.

1. Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Scheme for Women

Congress is focusing on female voters as part of its strategy. If the party wins the Delhi elections, they plan to offer women a monthly allowance of ₹2,500-₹3,000.

2. Health Insurance Scheme

Congress is also promising a significant health insurance scheme for all Delhi residents, though some conditions may apply to the beneficiaries.

3. Job Guarantee for Youth

For the first time, Congress is taking a major step to attract unemployed voters. The party is expected to announce an apprenticeship scheme for unemployed youth.

4. Income Guarantee for the Labor Class

If Congress wins, they are likely to introduce an income guarantee scheme for the labor class, aiming to support low-income workers.

5. Ration for All

Congress is considering providing ration for all urban poor in Delhi to reclaim its traditional voter base from AAP.

Additionally, Congress is preparing to build credibility around its guarantees to strengthen its position before the elections.

Delhi has a total of 70 seats, and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) currently holds power with Arvind Kejriwal as Chief Minister. AAP has been in power for 10 years, while Congress previously governed the state for 15 years. The BJP won the Delhi Legislative Assembly elections for the first time in 1993.
