Moto G Power (2025) Debuts with Upgraded Durability and Vegan Leather Finish

Motorola has officially launched the Moto G Power (2025) in the U.S., priced at $300 for the base 8GB RAM / 128GB storage variant.

The phone comes in a minimalist cardboard box with a USB-C cable included. Our unit is the Slate Gray model—though it leans more toward slate than gray. The back features a vegan leather finish, similar to the Edge 50 Neo, which we reviewed a few months ago. This finish provides a grippy texture that resists fingerprints, unlike the matte plastic sides, which are slightly more slippery.

The 6.8-inch 120Hz IPS LCD display remains similar to last year’s model, offering a 1080p resolution. While the screen looks good, an OLED panel would have been a welcome upgrade.

Under the hood, the Moto G Power (2025) runs Android 15 with Motorola’s light skin on top. It is powered by the 6nm Dimensity 6300 chipset, which is more of a side step than a significant upgrade from the Dimensity 7020 found in its predecessor. The 8GB RAM, 5,000mAh battery, and charging speeds (30W wired / 15W wireless) remain unchanged.

The most notable improvement is durability. While last year’s model had a “water-repellent design,” the 2025 edition is IP68/IP69-rated for dust and water resistance and is MIL-STD-810H certified for enhanced drop protection.
