Hailstorm in UP, Heavy Rain Alert in Odisha
Late last night, hailstorms lasted for about half an hour in Meerut and Hapur, Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, a heavy rain alert has been issued for Odisha for the next three days, i.e., until Sunday. The state government has warned of potential crop damage in 25 districts and has issued an alert accordingly.
Snowfall in Himachal, Jammu-Srinagar Highway Blocked
In the past 24 hours, heavy snowfall has been recorded in various regions of Himachal Pradesh, including Manali, Lahaul-Spiti, Shimla, Kinnaur, and Dalhousie. Tourists visiting these areas will be able to witness snowfall for the next 6 to 20 days.
In Jammu and Kashmir, snowfall has led to the closure of the Jammu-Srinagar highway, leaving around 300 vehicles stranded. Efforts are underway to clear vehicles stuck in Nachilana, Sherbibi, and the Banihal-Qazigund pole lane tunnels.

Following recent thunderstorms and rain, cold conditions have returned to Rajasthan as temperatures have dropped. However, the weather is expected to change again from February 22, with temperatures likely to rise by 2-3 degrees. By February 25-26, day temperatures are expected to increase across many cities in the state.
Punjab: 4°C Drop in Temperature, 36mm Rainfall Recorded in Amritsar
In Punjab, the temperature has dropped after rainfall over the last 24 hours. According to the weather department, the average maximum temperature has fallen by 4.7°C. This is 1.8°C below the normal temperature for the state. The highest maximum temperature was recorded in Bathinda at 25.1°C. The weather is expected to remain clear today.
Himachal Pradesh: Cold Intensifies, Temperature Drops by 13°C in 24 Hours
Following widespread rain and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh, the Western Disturbance (WD) is expected to weaken by Friday. Light snowfall may continue in high-altitude areas, while other regions will see clear weather. On February 22, light rain and snowfall are expected in both high and medium-altitude areas of the state.
