Royal Enfield to Launch Classic 650 Twins on March 27: Equipped with a 648cc Engine, Expected Price ₹3.5 Lakh

Royal Enfield is set to launch its new retro motorcycle, the Classic 650, in India on March 27. The bike was first showcased at the 2024 MotoVerse event and will feature a retro design, a powerful 648cc engine, and turn-by-turn navigation.

The expected starting price in India is ₹3.5 lakh. It will be available in four color options: Chrome, Teal, Blue, and Velum Red.

Platform and Build

The Classic 650 is built on the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 platform, which is also used for:

  • Interceptor 650

  • Continental GT 650

  • Super Meteor 650

  • Shotgun 650

It features covered telescopic forks and twin rear shock absorbers. The bike is equipped with 19-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels. For braking, it has a 320mm front disc and a 300mm rear disc, along with dual-channel ABS. The bike weighs 243 kg.

Performance & Features: 648cc Engine and Semi-Digital Console

The Classic 650 is powered by a 647.95cc air/oil-cooled parallel-twin engine, producing 46.4 HP and 52 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. This engine is also used in other Royal Enfield 650 models, including:

  • Interceptor 650

  • Continental GT 650

  • Super Meteor 650

  • Shotgun 650

The Classic 650 closely resembles the Classic 350 in design, featuring:

  • Teardrop-shaped fuel tank

  • Body-colored 43mm Showa front forks

  • Twin rear shock absorbers

  • Wire-spoked wheels

  • Dual chrome-finished exhausts

  • Extended rear fender
