Salman Khan’s Eid Release Sikandar to Hit Theatres on Sunday, Like Tiger 3
The film also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, and Sharman Joshi in key roles.
New Delhi:
Salman Khan announced the release date of his much-anticipated Eid release, Sikandar, on Wednesday. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film is set to premiere in theatres worldwide on March 30, which falls on a Sunday.
Sharing a new poster from the film, Salman Khan wrote, “See you in theatres worldwide on 30th March! #Sikandar.”
This isn’t the first time a Salman Khan film has deviated from the traditional Friday release. In 2023, Tiger 3 was also released on a Sunday, coinciding with Diwali. However, trade experts questioned the decision, noting that the actor missed the opportunity to fully capitalize on the festival weekend.
Sikandar marks Salman Khan’s first collaboration with Rashmika Mandanna.
When asked whether Sikandar would combine emotional depth with thrilling action, similar to his hit film Ghajini, director AR Murugadoss responded, “Yes. This is not just a mass entertainer; it has strong family emotions. While Ghajini focused on a boyfriend-girlfriend love story, Sikandar explores a husband-wife relationship. The film delves into modern family dynamics, how couples interact, and what we might be missing in our relationships. That will be the film’s highlight.”
He further added, “Though Ghajini appeared to be a psychological thriller, audiences were surprised by the depth of Aamir and Asin’s love story. Similarly, Sikandar has an emotional core that will resonate with viewers.”
The film also features Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, and Sharman Joshi in pivotal roles.
Sikandar is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.
