Older Samsung phones could get the update earlier than expected.
Samsung seems to be switching gears this year. While One UI 7 based on Android 15 rolled out slowly, the next version — One UI 8 — is already making headlines. A new report claims that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 will debut with One UI 8 pre-installed.
Foldables First in Line for One UI 8
According to SamMobile, One UI 8 will be based on Android 16 and may debut on the Fold 7 and Flip 7. This would mark a shift in Samsung’s update strategy, aligning with Google’s earlier Android 16 release, which could arrive as early as June.
Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event is also expected mid-year, making it a likely launchpad for these new foldables.
What’s more, this rollout could be a faster one — not just for new phones, but also for older Galaxy flagships like the Galaxy S25 series. The report says Samsung is already internally testing One UI 8 on multiple devices.
Expect the update to bring Android 16-based improvements, including better performance, enhanced customization, and more Galaxy AI features.
