Updated Tata Tiago NRG Launched, Price Starts at ₹7.20 Lakh: Modern Features Like 2-Spoke Smart Digital Steering Wheel, Excellent Mileage

Tata Motors has launched the updated 2025 model of the Tiago NRG in the Indian market, featuring cosmetic design changes and new features. The Tiago NRG is based on the standard Tiago model and is now available only in XZ and XZ+ trims, as the entry-level XT variant has been discontinued.

The Tata Tiago NRG is available in both CNG and petrol versions, making it the most affordable CNG hatchback in India with an automatic transmission. It is equipped with twin-cylinder technology. The ex-showroom price starts at ₹7.2 lakh, going up to ₹8.75 lakh for the top variant. The Tiago NRG is ₹30,000 more expensive than the regular Tiago model.

Tata Motors claims that the Tiago NRG delivers an impressive mileage of:

  • 28.06 km/kg (CNG mode, automatic transmission)
  • 26.49 km/kg (CNG mode, manual transmission)
  • 19.43 km/l (petrol mode, automatic transmission)
  • 20.1 km/l (petrol mode, manual transmission)

While the Tiago NRG has no direct competitors in the cross-hatchback segment, it competes in terms of price with the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Maruti WagonR, Maruti Celerio, and Citroën C3.

Updated Grille and LED Headlights

The 2025 Tata Tiago NRG features an updated front grille and LED headlights in both petrol and CNG variants. However, it looks sportier than the standard Tiago due to its blacked-out bumpers and silver skid plates. In contrast, the regular Tiago features chrome-finished air dams and fog lights, which are absent in the NRG model.

On the side, the Tiago NRG comes with 14-inch steel wheels, whereas the standard Tiago gets 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. The ground clearance of the Tiago NRG is 181mm, making it more suitable for rough roads. Side body cladding, black door handles, and black ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors) further differentiate it from the regular Tiago.

Advanced Safety Features

Both versions of the Tiago NRG come equipped with several safety features, including:

  • Dual front airbags
  • Rear parking camera
  • Hill hold control
  • Tire pressure monitoring system
  • Rear defogger
  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

1.2-Liter 3-Cylinder Bi-Fuel Petrol Engine

There are no mechanical changes in the new Tiago NRG. It continues to be powered by a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder, bi-fuel petrol engine, delivering:

  • 84 hp power and 113 Nm torque in petrol mode
  • 72 bhp power and 95 Nm torque in CNG mode

For transmission, the engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed automatic (AMT) gearbox.

With sporty design updates, enhanced features, and excellent fuel efficiency, the 2025 Tata Tiago NRG remains a strong choice in its segment.
