New Delhi – Vivo has officially confirmed that its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Vivo X200 Ultra, will launch in China on April 21st. The handset is being positioned as a serious competitor to Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro Max and Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra, particularly in the photography department.
In a series of teasers published on Weibo, Vivo revealed several key specifications of the X200 Ultra, including advanced camera hardware, a powerful processor, and an upgraded display. The smartphone is being promoted as a “pocket camera that can make calls”, offering professional-level imaging features and hardware add-ons.
📸 Professional-Grade Camera Capabilities
The Vivo X200 Ultra will feature Sony’s LYT-818 sensor on both its 35mm primary and 14mm ultra-wide-angle cameras. Vivo claims significant improvements in image quality, with the ultra-wide lens offering 181% more light intake and a 216% faster shutter speed.
The rear camera system also includes a 200MP 85mm telephoto lens, said to deliver 38% better light performance compared to the Vivo X100 Ultra. The device supports Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and introduces a zoomable flash array, designed to improve portrait photography in low-light conditions.
Video capabilities include 4K portrait video recording at all focal lengths, with several dedicated shooting modes like Supermoon and Starry Night.
The X200 Ultra also integrates two dedicated imaging chips — VS1 and V3+, which handle tasks such as real-time bokeh rendering, HDR processing, and complex multi-frame image stacking — enabling DSLR-like image quality on a smartphone.
⚙️ Performance and Hardware
Powering the X200 Ultra is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 “Elite” SoC. The phone is backed by a 6,000mAh battery, with support for 90W wired and 40W wireless charging — an upgrade from the X100 Ultra’s 5,500mAh battery and slower charging capabilities.
The device will also feature a 2K OLED display with Zeiss branding and Armour Glass protection, promising both stunning visuals and durability.
🌍 Availability
While the Chinese launch is confirmed for April 21st, global availability remains unconfirmed. Vivo’s previous flagship, the X100 Ultra, was limited to the Chinese market, so it remains to be seen if the X200 Ultra will reach international users.
