‘Roads Are Meant for Walking’
When asked about the controversy surrounding the warning issued to Muslims in Meerut against offering prayers on the streets, CM Yogi backed the administration’s actions. He said, “There is nothing wrong with this. Roads are meant for walking. Those who are criticizing the administration’s warning should learn discipline from Hindus. During the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, which saw 660 million attendees, there were no incidents of looting, arson, vandalism, or kidnapping. Religious discipline is essential. If you seek convenience, you must also respect discipline.”
‘Muslims Constitute 20% of UP’s Population’
Yogi Adityanath, known for his firm stance on Hindutva and his tough approach to criminal activity, has become one of the BJP’s most popular leaders. However, he rejected accusations of discrimination against Muslims, stating, “Muslims make up 20% of Uttar Pradesh’s population, but 30-40% of the beneficiaries of government schemes are Muslims.”
‘I Do Not Believe in Discrimination’
The Chief Minister further emphasized, “I have never believed in discrimination, nor do I support appeasement. I have always worked to ensure that all needy Indian citizens, regardless of their background, receive the benefits they deserve.”
