BJP Slams Delhi Government Over Delay in Presenting CAG Reports

BJP National Spokesperson, Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi, has slammed the Delhi government for its delay in presenting the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports. Trivedi referred to a recent remark by the Delhi High Court, which called the delay “unfortunate.” He emphasized that the government’s failure to table these reports was indicative of larger issues in governance, extending beyond just development, infrastructure, and environmental concerns to matters of constitutional integrity.

Trivedi highlighted that several CAG reports, approximately twelve in total, have yet to be introduced in the Delhi Assembly. He also mentioned a statement from the Delhi Legislative Assembly Secretary on January 11, 2025, which dismissed the importance of presenting these reports. In addition, seven BJP MLAs raised their concerns with the Assembly Speaker, questioning the government’s reluctance to present the reports. According to Trivedi, the AAP government’s behavior is a clear example of anarchism creeping into constitutional procedures, undermining the proper functioning of governmental institutions.
