Kolkata, (West Bengal) [India]: In a heartwarming display of compassion and community spirit, Rajrupa Bose, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Calcutta Centenary, brought joy and learning to the children of the Jeevansathi Vikash Foundation. The initiative, which took place over the weekend, saw generous donations of academic materials, storybooks, and food for underprivileged children aged between 5 and 10 years.
Armed with the belief that every child deserves a chance to learn and laugh, Rajrupa Bose spearheaded the campaign, ensuring that the foundation’s young learners were not only given tools to build their future but also a sweet reminder of childhood. The donation included notebooks, pencils, and educational kits, alongside colourful storybooks designed to spark imagination and inspire a love for reading.
And because no celebration of childhood is complete without a little indulgence, the team also distributed an array of treats – from cookies and cakes to chips, chocolates, and fruit juices – adding a festive touch to the occasion.
Speaking to us, a representative from the Jeevansathi Vikash Foundation shared, “This gesture goes beyond materials. It shows the children that they matter, that there are people out there rooting for their dreams.”
Rajrupa Bose, known for her commitment to inclusive development and child welfare, remarked, “We wanted to do something that feeds both minds and hearts. Education is the strongest foundation we can offer – and a little joy along the way makes the journey brighter.”
With initiatives like these, hope isn’t just a word — it’s a storybook, a pencil, and a pack of cookies, lovingly handed over to a child who’s ready to dream.
