Salman Khan Responds to Age Gap Criticism: ‘I’ll Work with Rashmika’s Daughter Too’

Mumbai: Salman Khan’s pairing with Rashmika Mandanna in the upcoming film Sikandar has sparked controversy due to their 31-year age difference. Social media users have heavily trolled the casting, questioning the significant gap between the two stars.

Addressing the criticism, Salman responded with a witty remark: “Rashmika has no problem working with me, so why should others? In the future, she’ll get married, have a daughter, and I’ll work with her too.”

At 59, Salman is far older than Rashmika, who is just 28. Notably, Salman’s breakout film, Maine Pyar Kiya (1989), was released seven years before Rashmika was even born. This stark generational difference has fueled online debates and criticism.

This isn’t the first time Bollywood has witnessed backlash over large age gaps in on-screen pairings. Previously, Akshay Kumar faced similar trolling when he starred opposite Manushi Chhillar in Samrat Prithviraj, despite being 27 years older than her.
