Struggles to secure financing for new films

Two major projects with South directors stalled

Concerns over his on-screen energy and performance
Mumbai: Salman Khan’s latest release, Sikandar, has turned out to be a massive box office failure, raising serious concerns about his career. Trade experts believe that securing financing for his future projects will now be significantly more challenging.
For years, Salman’s Eid releases were considered guaranteed blockbusters. However, Sikandar has shattered that perception, performing so poorly that multiple shows had to be canceled due to low occupancy. This unexpected failure has made it increasingly difficult for the superstar to bounce back.
One of Salman’s big-budget projects with director Atlee had already been shelved due to budget constraints. Additionally, another much-anticipated film with renowned Telugu director Harish Shankar has now been put on indefinite hold.
Even Salman’s loyal fan base has noticed a decline in his screen presence. In Sikandar, he appears visibly exhausted, lacking the energy and charisma that once defined his performances. His dialogue delivery and expressions feel forced, making it evident that he is struggling to recreate his past magic.
Given his recent performance, industry insiders believe that external directors may now hesitate before casting him in lead roles. With competition from younger stars and shifting audience preferences, Salman Khan faces one of the toughest phases of his career.
