Galaxy S25 Edge: Performance Scores, Launch Timeline, and Weight Leak

What to Expect from the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Features and Pricing Insights

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Surfaces on Geekbench with Weight and Launch Details

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge made a brief appearance at the ‘Galaxy Unpacked’ event last month, where the Galaxy S25 series was officially introduced. Known for being the slimmest variant in the lineup, rumors suggest the device could be as thin as 6mm. Recently, the Galaxy S25 Edge was spotted on Geekbench, revealing key details about its performance, weight, and expected launch timeline.

Galaxy S25 Edge Geekbench Scores

A Samsung device with the model number SM-S937B was discovered on Geekbench, though the official name has not been confirmed yet. However, a similar model number (SM-S937U) has appeared on Geekbench and GSMA databases earlier, believed to be the Galaxy S25 Edge.

The Geekbench listing shows the phone scoring 2,806 in the single-core test and 8,416 in the multi-core test. In comparison, the earlier listing of the Galaxy S25 Edge (SM-S937U) showed scores of 3,005 in single-core and 6,945 in multi-core tests. The new listing suggests the device will run on Android 15, potentially with One UI 7. It will come with 10.69GB (12GB) of RAM.

The chipset is speculated to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, with a ‘sun’ motherboard reference indicating six cores clocked at 3.53GHz and two cores at 4.47GHz.

Launch Timeline and Weight Details

Tipster Max Jambor has indicated that the Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to launch in Q2 this year, between April and June. This aligns with previous leaks suggesting a Q2 release. The phone is expected to be available initially in the US and South Korea, with potential availability in India and other markets as well.

According to tipster Ice Universe, the Galaxy S25 Edge will weigh less than the regular Galaxy S25, which weighs 162 grams. This means the Edge variant could be lighter, similar to the Galaxy S10, which was the last lightweight flagship from Samsung at 157 grams.

Samsung hinted at the phone’s weight during the Unpacked event, where the Galaxy S25 Edge was suspended in mid-air alongside two metal blocks.

Expected Features and Specifications

Leaks suggest that the Galaxy S25 Edge will come with a 200MP + 12MP dual-camera setup, a 1-120Hz refresh rate display with Pro Scaler support, 1.32mm thin display bezels, Wi-Fi 7, a thinner vapor chamber than the Galaxy S25, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, and 25W fast charging support.

Pricing

Pricing for the Galaxy S25 Edge is yet to be confirmed. For reference, the Galaxy S25 starts at ₹80,999 in India, ₹99,999 for the Galaxy S25 Plus, and ₹1,29,999 for the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

More details on the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge are expected as the launch date approaches. Stay tuned for updates.
