Team India’s middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer described the victory against Pakistan as a significant achievement. On Sunday, India secured a six-wicket win over Pakistan in the fifth match of the Champions Trophy.

🔹 Pakistan’s Innings: Winning the toss, Pakistan chose to bat first but was bowled out for 241 runs in 49.4 overs.
🔹 India’s Chase: India comfortably reached the target, scoring 242/4 in 42.3 overs.

‘A Win Against Pakistan is Always Meaningful’

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Shreyas Iyer said, “I haven’t played a match in Pakistan yet, so I don’t know what it’s like there. But this was a neutral venue, making it equally challenging for both teams. Any win against Pakistan is special because these matches are always highly competitive.”

He further added, “It’s a big challenge, given the immense pressure involved. This was my third match against Pakistan, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.”

‘Virat is Never Out of Form, He is Always Hungry for Runs’

In this match, Virat Kohli remained unbeaten on 100 runs, registering his 51st ODI century and 82nd international century.

Praising Kohli, Iyer said, “I never felt that Virat was struggling for runs. He is always eager to score. Before this match, he arrived for practice an hour earlier than the rest of us. As usual, he was in outstanding form.”

Shreyas Iyer’s Crucial Knock

Shreyas Iyer also played a key role in India’s victory, scoring 56 runs off 67 balls. His crucial 114-run partnership with Kohli ensured India’s smooth chase.
