Agartala: In a significant step toward youth empowerment, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha inaugurated the ‘Skill-Uday Tongnai’ programme on February 7 at the Tripura Institute of Technology (TIT), Agartala. The initiative aims to equip 80,000 students from schools and colleges across the state with essential skills for employment and entrepreneurship.

A Multilingual Symbol of Progress

The name “Skill-Uday Tongnai” is a blend of English, Bengali, and Kokborok. “Skill” represents empowerment, “Uday” (rise) reflects growth in Bengali, and “Tongnai” (inauguration) in Kokborok signifies a transformative beginning for the youth.

Shaping a Skilled Generation

The programme seeks to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements. Training sessions will cover cutting-edge technologies, vocational trades, and entrepreneurial development.

Government’s Vision for Economic Transformation

Chief Minister Manik Saha emphasized the importance of skilling initiatives in fostering Tripura’s growth. “This program will not only create employability but also drive innovation and entrepreneurship in the state,” he remarked during the launch event.
