VinFast to Launch VF7 Electric Car in India: Vietnam’s ‘Tata’ to Manufacture Locally
VinFast, the Vietnamese electric vehicle giant often referred to as Vietnam’s ‘Tata,’ is set to launch its electric cars in India. The company plans to produce these cars locally, with production set to take place at its new plant in Tamil Nadu. Despite the challenges posed by the floods in Tamil Nadu last year, VinFast quickly resumed operations and is now preparing for the launch of its first electric SUV, the VF7.
VinFast will debut its electric vehicles in India, with the VF7 SUV expected to be launched during this year’s festive season. The company previously showcased its cars at the 2025 Auto Expo, where the electric vehicles received significant praise. Since then, there has been growing anticipation for VinFast’s electric car launch in India.

In addition to the VF7, VinFast plans to introduce multiple electric vehicles in India, including the VF6, VF3, VF8, and VF9 models. The company is also working on establishing its battery production facility in India to help reduce the costs of electric cars, which will make them more affordable for Indian consumers.
VF3 to Be the Most Affordable EV in India
VinFast’s VF3 is expected to be the most affordable electric car in India. Reports suggest that the price of the VF3 could be comparable to that of the Tata Nano, making it one of the cheapest electric cars in the market. The VF3 will be a compact two-door, two-seater car, and it is expected to offer a range of up to 215 km on a single charge. The car will be capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds.

The VF3 will feature several safety and convenience features, including ABS, EBD, and rear-side parking sensors. The VF3 will compete with cars like the MG Comet EV in India, offering an affordable yet feature-packed electric vehicle option.
