Amit Shah Celebrates Shivaji Maharaj’s Vision, Pledges to Make India No. 1 by 2047
On April 12, Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid his respects to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on the 345th anniversary of his death at Raigad Fort. His visit coincided with the centenary celebrations of the renovation of Shivaji Maharaj’s Mausoleum.
Shah was joined by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, all of whom also paid tribute to the founder of the Maratha Empire. BJP leader Udyanraje Bhosale was present on the occasion as well.
Amit Shah praised Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s remarkable determination, saying, “He had no luck on his side, nor was he supported by the past. He had neither wealth nor an army. Yet, a young boy with indomitable courage and resolve gave the mantra of Swaraj to the entire country. In a short time, he shattered the 200-year-old Mughal rule and freed the country. Today, after 75 years of independence, we stand before the world with our heads held high. We pledge that when we celebrate 100 years of independence, India will be number one in the world. Shivaji Maharaj laid down the foundation for this vision.
