A CISF PSI named Kishan Singh, who was on duty at Surat International Airport, has tragically died after being shot in the abdomen. The incident occurred in the airport’s bathroom, where Kishan Singh was found in a bloodied condition. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries before further treatment could be administered. The police have registered a case of accidental death and are investigating whether the incident was an accident or a suicide. The deceased had gotten married just a year ago. He had been serving at Surat International Airport since 2022.
Incident Unfolded in the Airport Bathroom
The sound of gunfire in the airport bathroom during the afternoon prompted other CISF personnel to rush to the scene. However, the bathroom door was locked, and the personnel had to enter from the top. Inside, they found PSI Kishan Singh bleeding from a gunshot wound to his abdomen. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital, but he passed away before receiving any further medical attention.
Kishan Singh’s Recent Marriage
Kishan Singh had been posted at Surat International Airport since 2022, taking on the responsibility of security. He had gotten married just one year ago. On the day of the incident, he appeared to be in normal spirits as he was chatting with a fellow CISF colleague. However, moments later, he went to the bathroom, and the sound of gunfire was heard. Other CISF personnel rushed to the scene but struggled to open the bathroom door. Eventually, they had to enter through the ceiling. Though Kishan Singh was still alive when found, he passed away while being transported to the hospital.
Police Launch Investigation into the Death
ACP Nirav Gohil stated that the police have registered a case of accidental death and are currently investigating whether the shooting was a suicide or an accident. The deceased, Kishan Singh, was originally from Jaipur, Rajasthan, and had been residing in the Magdalla area of Surat since 2022. He had been working as a CISF PSI at the airport. The investigation will determine whether the incident was a case of self-inflicted injury or an unfortunate accident.
