Tesla Dealership in Rome Hit by Fire, 17 Cars Destroyed Amid Rising Backlash
Massive Fire Destroys 17 Tesla Cars at Rome Dealership; Elon Musk Calls It an Act of Terrorism
Rome, Italy – March 31, 2025
A massive fire broke out overnight at a Tesla dealership in the Torre Angela neighborhood of Rome, destroying 17 Tesla vehicles, local firefighters reported. Emergency services arrived on the scene at approximately 4:30 a.m. and successfully contained the flames before they spread further. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
While the exact cause of the fire remains under investigation, authorities are considering several possible explanations, including arson. The fire also caused partial damage to the building, though the extent of the structural harm is still being assessed.
This incident follows a growing trend of vandalism targeting Tesla vehicles in several countries. The acts of aggression are believed to be linked to public backlash against the company’s owner, Elon Musk, partly due to his controversial political affiliations. Musk has expressed support for far-right political parties in Europe and has been associated with former U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration, fueling tensions around his business ventures.
In response to the fire, Musk took to social media platform X, condemning the attack as an act of “terrorism.” He wrote, “This is not just vandalism; it’s an assault on individuals and their livelihoods,” expressing concern over the increasing hostility toward Tesla.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident and are urging the public to come forward with any relevant information that may assist in identifying those responsible.
