Google Assistant to Be Replaced by Gemini on All Mobile Devices
Gemini to Replace Google Assistant by Late 2025
Google has officially decided to replace its digital assistant with Gemini. This transition is set to be completed by the end of 2025. As a result, most mobile devices will no longer support Google Assistant. A large number of users have already switched to Gemini.
Device Compatibility: Minimum 2GB RAM Required
Gemini will not be available on Android 9 or earlier versions, except for devices with at least 2GB of RAM. Devices with less than 2GB RAM will continue to support Google Assistant. Additionally, certain smart TVs will still retain Google Assistant. Google is working on enhancing Gemini to provide the same functionality and user experience as Assistant.
The Future of Gemini
When Gemini launched in February 2024, it lacked some phone assistant capabilities. However, Google has since added new features, such as lock screen access, making it more powerful. The company plans to expand Gemini beyond smartphones to smartwatches, cars, tablets, and headphones. It has already been integrated into Pixel Buds and Wear OS.
Google’s Vision for Gemini
Google envisions Gemini as a personal assistant that seamlessly integrates with all user services and applications, enhancing the overall user experience. The company is also working on bringing Gemini to speakers, displays, and TVs, ensuring its presence across all smart devices through software updates.
