Kumbh Mela 2025: First Day Significance, Shahi Snan Dates, and Auspicious Ravi Yoga

The Kumbh Mela holds immense significance in Sanatan Dharma, with people from all over the world coming to take part in the sacred bath (Shahi Snan) and donate during this grand event. The Kumbh Mela will be held in 2025 in Prayagraj and is one of the four holy pilgrimage sites – Prayagraj, Haridwar, Ujjain, and Nashik – where it occurs every 12 years. This year, the Mela will begin on January 13, the day of the Pushya Purnima, which is considered especially auspicious.

The first day of the Mela will coincide with a rare and highly auspicious Ravi Yoga (Sun’s alignment), from 7:15 AM to 10:38 AM, making it a particularly favorable time for bathing and donating. According to Hindu beliefs, the first day of the Kumbh Mela, marked by this auspicious conjunction, holds enhanced spiritual significance.

The Kumbh Mela will begin on January 13, 2025, and continue until February 26, 2025.
