No Honour Until We Avenge the Terror Attack: Union Minister C.R. Paatil Refuses Felicitation in Surat

Following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, there has been a somber mood across India, with growing public demand for a strong response. Reflecting this sentiment, Union Minister of Jal Shakti and Gujarat BJP President C.R. Paatil declined to accept an honour at a public event in Surat. He firmly stated, “I will not accept any form of recognition until justice is served for the attack.”

Global Summit Held at Avadh Utopia, Surat

The event, held at Avadh Utopia in Surat, brought together investors from across the country, particularly from the stock market sector. C.R. Paatil was invited as a chief guest to address the gathering.

A Symbolic Stand Against Terror

During the Global Investor Summit, the organizers intended to felicitate Paatil with a bouquet and memento. However, he politely declined, stating that he would not accept any form of felicitation until the Pahalgam attack is avenged. Instead, he simply posed for a group photograph with the organizers and refrained from any ceremonial recognition.

“Stock Market Reflects Economic Strength”

While addressing the investors, Paatil emphasized India’s growing prominence on the global stage. He said, “India is advancing in every sector. The stock market is a mirror of the country’s economic health. A strong market indicates a strong economy.” He explained that citizen investment in the stock market reflects confidence and contributes to national growth.

“Trump Took a U-Turn in the Tariff War”

Paatil commented on international economic scenarios, mentioning the U.S. tariff war during the Trump administration. “Market uncertainty forced even President Trump to reconsider his stance. Such instability impacts global markets,” he said. While humbly admitting he’s not a stock market expert, Paatil remarked, “I see this crowd full of experts—my presence here seems unnecessary in comparison.”

He shared a past conversation where someone predicted that the stock market would rise from 21,000 to 50,000 points. “At the time, I didn’t have a market account and was surprised by that forecast. Earlier, fluctuations of 100-200 points caused panic. Now, even 400-500 point swings are normal. Political stability and sustained development are the main reasons behind this growth,” he said.

Bridging the Gap Between Leaders and Workers

Since taking on the role of BJP’s Gujarat President, Paatil has made efforts to reduce the gap between party leaders and workers. He has frequently chosen to sit among workers instead of on stage during events. Notably, four years ago in Valsad, he advised local leaders not to use sofas or VIP seating arrangements on stage in future programs, emphasizing equality and simplicity.
