Mumbai, February 2, 2025 – India posted a formidable total of 247 runs in the fifth T20I against England, thanks to a brilliant century from Abhishek Sharma. Playing at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, England won the toss and opted to bowl first. Abhishek Sharma’s explosive 135 runs off just 54 balls, including 13 sixes, led India’s charge. He reached his century in a record-breaking 37 balls, marking the fastest T20I century against England.

England’s chase started under difficult circumstances, with half the team dismissed for just 100 runs. Phil Salt, who scored 55 runs, was the first to fall, caught off Shivam Dubey’s delivery. Brydon Carse remains at the crease with him.

India’s bowlers put England on the back foot, with Varun Chakravarthy taking two key wickets—captain Jos Buttler and Liam Livingstone. Ravi Bishnoi and Mohammad Shami each took a wicket, as India’s bowlers tightened the noose on England’s chase.

As the match progresses, England faces a tough battle to chase down the massive target set by India.
