Devotees Park Outside, Shuttle to Ghats: Key Changes at Mahakumbh for Vasant Panchami Snan
Vehicle Entry Restricted at Mahakumbh, VVIP Passes Canceled; One-Way System at Railway Stations, 1 Crore Devotees Take Holy Dip Today
Prayagraj, February 2, 2025 – Today marks the 21st day of the Mahakumbh, with nearly 97 lakh devotees having taken a holy dip in the Sangam by 2 PM. Since January 13, over 34.57 crore people have participated in the sacred ritual.
To manage the massive influx of devotees, a complete restriction on vehicle entry has been imposed in the city of Prayagraj and the Mela area from February 2 to 4. In addition, VVIP passes have been canceled, and a helicopter has been deployed for aerial surveillance.
Devotees are now required to park their vehicles outside the city. From there, they can either take shuttle buses or walk to the ghats. Separate parking arrangements have been made for small and large vehicles.
To further streamline the flow of devotees, a one-way system has been implemented at all railway stations in Prayagraj. Devotees arriving from one side will have to exit from the opposite side.
In a special moment at the Mahakumbh, Mamta Kulkarni, who has been appointed as the Mahamandaleshwar for the first time, adorned herself with ash and performed a special ritual. She received blessings from Dr. Laxmi Narayan Tripathi, the Acharya Mahamandaleshwar of the Kinnar Akhada.
