Biggest Success for Security Forces: 14 Naxalites Killed in Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh Encounter Update: In a major operation spanning 36 hours, security forces have neutralized 14 Naxalites in the Bhaludiggi hills of Kulhadighat, Gariaband district. This joint operation, conducted by Odisha and Chhattisgarh security forces, involved approximately 1,000 personnel. The operation is being hailed as a significant victory in the fight against Naxalism.

Key Details from the Encounter

  • Clashes and Recoveries: The encounter began yesterday morning and resulted in the recovery of 14 Naxalite bodies, including that of a woman. Automatic weapons and other equipment were seized from the site.
  • High-Profile Targets: Among those killed were Naxalite Odisha state president Jairam alias Chalapati, carrying a bounty of ₹1 crore, and CCM members Manoj and Guddu.
  • Injuries on Both Sides: A security personnel was injured during the clash and was airlifted to Raipur for treatment.

The Scale of the Operation

This operation, which strategically surrounded Naxalites on the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border, underscores the excellent coordination between the two states. SP Gariaband commended the forces for their bravery and dedication, stating, “This operation has dealt a severe blow to Naxal activities in the region.”

While this success is significant, search operations continue to ensure the region is completely secure. The elimination of high-ranking Naxal leaders is expected to disrupt their organizational structure and weaken their influence in the area.
