India-Pakistan Flag Meeting on LoC Tensions, First in Four Years: 75-Minute Dialogue Amidst 5 Recent Cross-Border Incidents
Amid heightened tensions along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, India and Pakistan held a flag meeting on Friday. The meeting took place at the Chaka Da Bag LoC Trade Center in Poonch sector and lasted for 75 minutes. Brigadier-level officers from both sides participated in the discussions. This was the first such meeting in the last four years, with the last flag meeting held in 2021.
In recent weeks, tensions along the LoC have been escalating. On February 4, the Indian army killed seven Pakistani infiltrators attempting to breach the border. Additionally, on February 13, reports emerged of ceasefire violations by Pakistani forces, though the Indian Army later denied these claims.

February 16, 2025: Sniper Attack in Poonch Sector, One Indian Soldier Injured
On February 16, sniper fire was reported from the Pakistani side in the Poonch sector, injuring an Indian soldier. After the attack, both sides exchanged fire for a short period.
February 13, 2025: Firing Reports from Pakistan
On February 13, there were reports of firing from the Pakistani side along the LoC. A viral video showed Pakistani military officials paying tribute to their fallen soldiers, with some reports claiming six casualties. However, the Indian Army maintained that the ceasefire was still in effect.
February 11, 2025: IED Explosion in Akhnoor, Two Soldiers Martyred
On February 11, 2025, an IED explosion occurred near the LoC in the Akhnoor sector, Jammu. Two soldiers, Captain K.S. Bakshi and Mukesh, lost their lives in the blast, which happened during a routine patrol at 3:50 pm.
February 4, 2025: Seven Pakistani Infiltrators Killed by Indian Forces
On the night of February 4, 2025, the Indian Army successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt along the LoC near Krishna Ghati in Poonch district, killing seven Pakistani infiltrators in the process.
January 14, 2025: Landmine Blast Near LoC in Rajouri, Six Soldiers Injured
On January 14, 2025, a landmine explosion occurred in the Bhawani sector near Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir. Six soldiers from the Gorkha Rifles were injured. The incident occurred when a soldier accidentally stepped on a landmine during a patrol near Khamba Fort.
