PM Modi to Take a Holy Dip at Kumbh Mela Tomorrow: Yogi and Bhutan’s King Also Participate
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to take a holy dip at the Kumbh Mela on February 5. On the auspicious occasion of Magh month’s Ashtami Tithi, PM Modi will bathe at the sacred Triveni Sangam. Following the dip, he will perform a ritualistic Ganga Puja and pray for the well-being of the nation.
Today, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Bhutan’s King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck also took a dip at the Sangam. Both performed the Ganga Aarti and other rituals. Later, they visited the Akshay Vat and Lete Hanuman temples for prayers.
The duo arrived at Bamrauli Airport from Lucknow by flight, before traveling by road to the Kumbh Mela. They boarded a boat from Aril Ghat to reach the Sangam and take their dip. During this time, Bhutan’s King and CM Yogi fed grains to birds and even took photographs.
Ahead of PM Modi’s visit, Yogi Adityanath is expected to review the arrangements from the helipad to the Sangam and Aril Ghat. In related news, Prayagraj police have registered a case against eight individuals for spreading rumors about the stampede that occurred on January 29. These individuals had shared videos and photos on social media platforms like X and Instagram.
As of today, over 370 million people have already bathed at the Kumbh Mela. By 8 AM today, 30 million devotees had participated in the sacred bath. On Vasant Panchami, 23.3 million people took a dip. Today marks the 23rd day of the Kumbh Mela, which began on January 13. With the completion of Vasant Panchami, the three key Amrit Snans of the Kumbh have concluded, and three more bathing festivals are scheduled for the coming days.
